need blurb
did as out and back, but easy to do as a linear walk using the 404 strumble shuttle
walk out of abercastle, pretty fishing village, no real amenities. no real parking place compared with abbereiddi or porthgain. 5km to Trefin, join road briefly. Could easily detour into Trefin where there is a pub and another bus stop. Coastal path continues up road out of Trefin, and rejoins coast line across fields with livestock.
continue on path to porthgain, you will meet white cone to mark porthgain harbour.
nice headlands en route to here for lunch spot, equally can eat lunch in porthgain
around port, ascend up narrow stone steps to rejoin costal path again. Short 3km walk to get to abbereiddi, passing treath llyfn (below). Descend into abberreddi, toilets there, nice beach, ice cream van on beach sells hot food too.
Return via same route, coudl use alternate route into porthgain staying a little further inland (see gps trace, for where we almost went by accident)
Porthgain
Porthgain about 7.5km along. Lots there, toilets, ice cream shop (closes at 5pm)
- the sloop
- the shed
iron works and quarrying quite amazing.
traeth llyfn
one of the nicest beaches on coastal path accoding to other people, descend down bit flight of stairs to reach (need decent footware). Could reach this from car park at abberiddi too
