Nice length walk with some decent ascents along this slightly more rugged section of the Pembrokeshire coastline. Be aware what time of year you go, as unmaintained some parts of the path were waist high with foliage!
Details
We parked at Newport sands (paying, £5 for day) and took the 405 to Poppit sands which runs only once in the morning. You could stay on the bus until St Dogmaels if you wanted to extend the walk slightly.
this is regarded as much harder section of the costal path, however we found it similar to the goodwick section. warnings about this part of route being less used, no way out between large sections (not a problem for us), a bit ott.
facilities at poppit sands, toilets, cafe, shop, big car park. proper beach, lifeguard station, etc.
long walk up hill on road out of poppit sands
join camp site & farm, nice views from campsite (find name), bit strange walking through.
9km to ceibwr bay. decend all the way down. good spot for lunch, lots of other people stopped here. weird twitchers. caves, other cool stuff. interesting rock formation with water flowing under hidden rock bridge.
can also get bus to moylgrove, and walk to this point to shorten
another 9km on worlds never ending head land, suddenly turn into direction of newport sands, only 3km back from here. various sections of this were overgrown, even close ish to newport
newport sands pretty, had toilets, cafe, drinking water. had to pay to park. lifeguard school
dont forget to look back if walking in the direction of this gpx, as views of interesting rocks are often behind you.
not very well kept, parts of path were waist high foilage, some had been recently cut. maybe better later in season
this is much more cliffy than other walks, dont descend right down to beaches very often
really nice views, always ~> 100m above sea, very different to other parts of the coastal path. lots of cliffy views
